Today’s prompt is a bit different … but there is a personal connection for me.
The writer in this quote is a friend of mine, a person I grew up with, knew his entire family, and his older brother and I graduated together from high school just after the earth cooled.
I am still amazed every time I see one of his many books, read a review of his writing, see a quote such as this one that he is all grown up and a famous writer. To me he is still Ronnie’s nerdy little brother.
I must confess I have not read any of his books … he has a lengthy historical mystery series of ancient Rome … but he has written several books outside his normal genre. One being a murder mystery that is based on my home town …fiction of course, names changed to protect the innocent and all that, but seems to include characters based on his sister and grandmother. I have ordered that book and will read the other three written outside his series. At some point I will read the historical novels!
And … when you have time, visit his author page at Amazon … you just might find something you want to read!
On to the prompt:
Think about the first thing you wrote that you posted for this challenge, or shared with someone else, or had published for others to read. Do you agree with Steven’s quote or did you have a totally different visceral response to your first piece?
Address the prompt in any genre you feel comfortable using. Remember you are in charge of your own words, there is no ‘right or wrong’ with this process other than to have FUN!
You have until Sunday, April 10, 2016 to share your writing … or when you feel the mood strike even after the 10th.
All prompts are active and feel free to go back to earlier ones if you have not been one of my Writing Rebels … the only challenge here is between you and what you have to write … the rules are few and open to everyone!
*For those new to this challenge, please read the particulars under the third tab that says “read first” https://annieswritingchallenge.wordpress.com/writing-outside-the-lines/ then return to the prompt page to post your response or your web site link in the comments section.
