Hanging in the western sky just before dawn this morning was our beautiful moon … leaving its full moon status, yet still lovely. Not the best picture, but I call it Dawn Moon due to the time of day as well as the color of the sky just before sunrise. Use this as your inspiration this week … either the picture or the title …

Ok … you guys know the drill … go forth and write!

Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 2.16

Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 2.16

Good Morning Rebels! I treated myself to a copy of Mary Oliver’s newest book – Upstream – which is a collection of essays on her life. She is one of my favorite poets and this quote on page 16 spoke to me:

“I read my books with diligence, and mounting skill, and gathering certainty. I read the way a person might swim, to save his or her life. I wrote that way too.”

Think about this quote and your approach to reading and writing … respond in the manner that is most comfortable for you … you might want to just pick a word or a phrase from the quote or respond to the quote as a whole. Remember, you are in charge of your words and your writing and both are powerful.

Ok … you guys know the drill … go forth and write!

You have until Sunday, January 29, 2017 to share your writing … or when you feel the mood strike even after the 29th.

All prompts are active and feel free to go back to earlier ones if you have not been one of my Writing Rebels … the only challenge here is between you and what you have to write … the rules are few and open to everyone!
